Green Tea Lowers Total and LDL Cholesterol

A recent systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials found that green tea extract lowers "bad" cholesterol levels. Green extract was taken daily for up to 6 months and significantly reduced LDL and total cholesterol levels. Doses ranged form 145 to 3,000 mg daily. There no changes in HDL or triglycerides, but the impact on LDL and total cholesterol is promising.
